First Railway

The road that passes in front of the present day Cornish Muhayuddin Mosque was built by Dipusultan.
Then the British built the Shornur Chalium Railway.
The railway is a reminder of how closely Chaliam's commercial culture was intertwined with Malabar.
This was in 1861. This railway was later shifted to Kozhikode.
The lingering memories of the 2001 Teva 1 disaster can still be heard echoing through the tracks. This happened in the bridge that was built across the Kadulu 1 river at that time. A readable history and a railway well remain today in memory of that day only
